On a rainy Sunday afternoon crowds flocked to UF’s Harn to catch the art museum’s latest….um…catch. And it’s a big one.

Thanks to the generosity of Samuel H. and Roberta T. Vickers, the Harn has come into possession of perhaps the largest collection of Florida-centric art anywhere. It is Florida in all its glory.

And what is Florida if not a day at the beach? Or a day just off the beach? Or a day poolside?

Or a day at the track.

Or a day at the circus.

What is Florida, after all, if not a constant clash of cultures?

This is a tour de force through Florida legend, lore and literature.

A vision of ancient Florida cities and timeless wilderness.

A state of snowbirds and indigenous peoples.

Seriously, it is the Florida dream as told through the eyes of dreamers. If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and get yourself to the Harn.
