Hey, remember when Florida had an independent judiciary? Those were the days, right?
Turns out the anti-Ron isn’t content with just DeSanitizing public education, state colleges and universities, Disney, drag shows, flea markets, miniature golf courses and knitting circles etc.
No, the anti-Ron’s purge of equity, fairness, diversity and other detestable woke concepts now extends into the very judiciary that used to act as a check on executive branch excesses.
Having successfully installed his conservative majority on the Florida Supreme Court the DeSantizer expects nothing less than blind conformity from the black robed brethren.
And so it should surprise no one to learn that the Florida Supreme Court “has eliminated a requirement that new judges attend a separate, daylong training on fairness and diversity.”
Listen, who the hell wants a fair judge anyway? And we already know that the D-word must no longer be spoken, let alone taught, in the Free State of Floriduh.
Reports the Miami Herald, “The change, backed by six justices, drew a strongly worded dissent from Justice Jorge Labarga, who wrote that it “paves the way for a complete dismantling of all fairness and diversity initiatives in the State Courts System.
Labarga continued: “As stressed by the majority, the canons in the Code of Judicial Conduct do prohibit bias and prejudice in their various forms.
“However, the purpose of providing express consideration to fairness and diversity education has been to complement the canons, and in the hopes of addressing the extremely complex issue that is discrimination, to educate the judiciary on strategies for recognizing and combating discrimination. For these reasons, such a decision at this level of institutional gravity is, in my opinion, unwarranted, untimely, and ill-advised.”
I dunno, but Labarga sounds like a liberal to me. Maybe the DeSanitizer can figure out how to purge him as well.

You see a banner proclaiming “Justice: Fair and Accessible to all”
Guess their web master hasn’t had time to scrub that detestable word “fair” yet.
Hope the DeSanitizer doesn’t get wind of that oversight.
