I was going to post a humorous piece today about my silly feud with Facebook.
But it’s clear that today is not a day for frivolity, humor or distraction.
It is a day for reckoning.
Yesterday a woman was murdered in the streets of Minneapolis.
For all the world to see.
By an agent of the federal government.
And almost immediately the President instructed us all to believe that the murderer was the victim.
And that the victim was the villain.
Because apparently we Americans can no longer trust our own eyes to tell us the truth. Not in Trump’s Republic Of Lies.
But we can tell the difference.
So no humor today. No frivolity. No distractions.
Today I awoke in a country not my own.
And I wonder if it will ever again be my country.
Because this country not my own is being run by monsters.
Monsters that we enabled.
And if we do not do all within our power to try to undo what we have done, then we are all complicit.
In the atrocities.
In the lies.
And the monsters win.
