We are officially in the dog days of August. Time to duck into the cool environs of The Harn and see what’s new and different.

And The Harn never disappoints. It’s a feast for the eyes at every turn.

Start with French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950. A visually arresting sampling of the Brooklyn Museum of Art’s French Modern collection.

“The exhibit “spans the era between the Revolution of 1848 and the conclusion of World War II—a period marked by significant social, intellectual, and political upheaval in France. This era saw the emergence of avant-garde artistic movements including Realism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Symbolism, Fauvism, Cubism, and Surrealism, which left a lasting impact on the Western artistic tradition.”
I found the Rodin sculptures especially alluring.

And not to forget The Harn At 35: Recent Photography Acquisitions.
Soaring images from the construction of a giant dam. Astronauts on the moon. Heartbreaking images from Ukraine. Rodeo days and more.

“In the last two years, more than 150 photographs have entered the Harn’s permanent photography collection… The Harn at 35 celebrates this new abundance with approximately 70 images exhibited for the first time at the Harn…”

As usual, the eyes have it at The Harn.
Plus, it’s really, really hot outside, and we could all use a cool break.
