‘Starship for the Mind’: UF’s Malachowsky Hall an Epicenter for AI and Data Science: nvidia.com

Continuing my never ending search for something like a life, I left home especially early for Saturday breakfast so I could cycle through campus and visit with UF’s ‘Starship of the mind.’

Needless to say it is an impressive edifice. All agleam in aluminum and steel and glass.
This is decidedly not your father’s Southen Gothic, red brick, last century, ivy covered college hall.

And that is befitting the mission of Malachowsky Hall (Or Sky Hall if you can’t pronounce Malachowsky).
It is the $150 million epicenter for all things AI at UF. The “centralized human hub for major data-centric academic and research programs.”

And let me get one thing straight: Sky Hall is not at all like that fictional (right!) Silicon Valley ediface that gave birth…

…to Skynet.
We’re talking more beans than bytes here. If you catch my drift.

Nothing sinister to see here, folks.

I’ve already looked so you don’t have to.
Curtain? What curtain?

Trust me. It can’t happen here.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I must continue my quest for something like a life.
But like Arnie famously said.
I’ll be back.
