Leap, sparkle, repeat

Because I have no life and way too much time on my hands I frequently cycle to the Thomas Center for photo ops. With its elegant architecture, spreading oaks and sculptures it literally begs for a camera’s attention.

But my favorite photo ops come complements of the water fountain.

Getting up close and personal I like to catch soaring water droplets in mid-air as they perform amazing feats of acrobatics.

And when the droplets catch the rays of the sun they take on a magical look and feel.

The fountain itself can take on a sinister appearance (with the help of my iPhone photo editing tools). I call this one: When it rains in Hell.

But mostly I’m enthralled by capturing water droplets seemingly frozen in time and space.

The Thomas Center is striking in its own right. But when shot through a screen of rising and falling water, it takes on an otherworldly appearance.

All of which, of course, only confirms that I really do have way too much time on my hands.

No question, first thing tomorrow I’m gonna go out and get a life.
