Being of idle mind and way too much time on my hands, I collage. Or as Descartes would say: I am therefore I collage.
And I have been known to roam far and wide indeed for my collage content. Talk about going to extreme lengths. Consider these examples.
It’s raining outside and we’re bored to tears.

The faux musicians in the lower right hand corner came from a photo I took in Iceland.
I shot the wooden star at the top on the Danube River.
The blue orb was taken in Bath, England.
The “We Are Not Parasites” sign came from the “Hands Off” demonstration here in GNV.
And I spotted the dragon fly (or whatever the hell it is) right outside my window. It was staring right at me. Maybe even stalking me.
Oh, the rain soaked screen in the background was taken on Crescent Beach.
It was a dark and stormy night

The background was shot on an especially dark and stormy night at the RiverGrill On The Tomoka in Ormond Beach.
I photographed the llama in the Andes.
That’s me and a bizarre statue of Kafka in Prague.
The waiter and newspaper reading customer are wall murals in the village of Roussilon, France.
The bronze lovers on the upper left are from a hotel courtyard in L’isle-sur-la-Sorgue, France.
Likewise the doubting Thomas on the right is from a L’isle-sur-la-Sorgue shop window.
The bronco rider is etched in glass on a cable car that lifts high up into the Grand Teutons.
And the little lady sharing the table with the newspaper customer is a carving I shot on Easter Island.
The getaway

I found my favorite Andy Warhol quote, “Art is what you can get away with,” spray painted on a Chicago street.
Donald’s mug shot needs no introduction.
The snowy figure below him is a sculpture in Reykjavik, Iceland.
I found the grotesque figure top center on a Berlin Wall.
The praying priest (top right) was taken in a cathedral in Vienna
The VW bug was shot here in GNV.
The gold colored medallion is part of a manhole cover in Budapest.
I found the tattooed boy in Regensburg-Innenstadt, Germany.
The chains hang outside a GNV Starbucks. I shot it during a pouring down rain to give it an especially sinister appearance.
And the neon background is the window of a spa in the Tiergarten.
Celebrate! Celebrate!

How to explain? I have a thing for capturing reflections in wine glasses. Don’t ask why, I haven’t a clue.
Suffice it to say that these reflecting glasses were taken – in no particular order – in France, Germany, Chile and England.
The little flapper comes from a painting in a guest room at St. Augustine’s Casa Monica hotel. And the background is a nighttime shot of the nearby Matanzas River.
Just recalling all of these treks is exhausting. I think I need some wine.
