GNV calling Kat. Kat? Yo, Kat?

Technically, Kat Cammack represents GNV in Congress. But that’s just a technicality. She’s’ so hardcore MAGA that she’d probably rather eat worms than do a solid for her constituents in a little blue city practically invisible in Floriduh’s sea of red.

Still, it would be nice to think that Cammack’s GNV constituents could meet with her face to face. Maybe get answers to some of their pressing questions about what the hell is going on up there in the MAGA D.C. Swamp.

And it’s not like she hasn’t been invited.

Glenn Terry, founder of GNV’s annual Flying Pig Parade, is organizing a GNV town hall for our oft-heard from but seldom seen U.S. Rep.

In collaboration with Gainesville Citizens For Democracy, Glenn has posted:

We’ve invited Gainesville’s congressional representative, Kat Cammack, to meet with her constituents on Wednesday, April 23. The town hall meeting will take place at Heartwood Soundstage, 619 So. Main St., in Gainesville, at 7 p.m.

Why?

America is in big trouble. Difficult times require us to ask Rep. Cammack challenging questions. While Ms. Cammack has been invited she has not responded. If she chooses not to attend the meeting will go on as an ‘open chair gathering.

Wait! An empty chair in place of a real, live, red…um…blooded Congressperson? What’s the point of that?

People can ask the representative’s empty chair their questions. Meetings like this often result in meaningful discussions among those attending. The meeting’s moderator, Gregg Jones, will collect attendee’s written questions at that time.

The Kat Cammack town hall is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, from 7-8 p.m. in Heartwood’s 120-seat venue. Since politics is nothing without a party, the event will kick off with an “Unhappy Hour” from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Heartwood’s outside patio outside.

Oh, and there will be music complements of the Darren Burgess Jazz Collective.

Here’s hoping that Kat cares enough about her GNV constituents to show up. Hell, she can even bring her shotgun if it’ll make her feel better.
