How embarrassing

Listen, I haven’t stayed in a Holiday Inn Express lately but I can still Monday morning quarterback the pants off David Whitley when I’ve a mind to.

Today. I am one embarrassed Gator, And who can blame me.?

The dispair! The humiliation! The disappointment!

Not to mention the outrageous buyout.

And, no, I’m not a bit embarrassed by Gator football. I was there for the Choke At Doke. I remember 0-10-1. Been there, done that.

Let me count the ways I am embarrassed to be a longtime member of the Gator Nation.

I am embarrassed by the cabal of Great DeSanitizer puppets who did their little pretend search before hiring a tinhorn politician from Nebraska because he was obviously the only carbon based life form in all the known universe qualified to “lead” my university.

I’m embarrassed by the way Tigert Hall has run roughshod over academic freedom in order to placate our War On Woke governor.

I’m embarrassed by the way they cracked down on pro-Palistinian student protestors for violating vague rules (I dunno, spitting on the grass maybe) and then expelled them for years to come.

Like Emmitt Smith I’m embarrassed because my still predominately white southern university shut down an office whose only function was to make students who aren’t white feel welcome and accepted on campus.

I am naturally embarrassed to learn about how our tin horn president from Nebraska spent millions of dollars hiring his pals and GOP operatives before abruptly quitting after only 17 months on the, um, job.

Not to forget those embarrassing travel expenses.

I’m doubly embarrassed to learn that our Board of Trustees gave the above mentioned tin horn a golden parachute, that, among other things, will pay him a $1 million salary until 2028.

Ok, I’ll admit to being a little bit embarrassed about Gator football.

I’m embarrassed that the team is still so bad despite the fact that we built an $85 million pleasure dome to entertain and coddle our top jocks.

These are embarrassing times to be a Florida Gator.
