The signs are all around us

Listen, sometimes you gotta pick up on the signs all around you if you wanna know who’s who and what’s what.

High Dive gets ready for its last performance. Sad.

Which is why, every now and then, I like to wander downtown GNV to see what’s posted on seemingly every door and every window.

Name that tune.

Think of it as my eternal quest to seek out signs of human intelligence/folly/decadence (choose one). Or, dare I say it?, perhaps even signs of civilization.

If they don’t have it at the Bull, you don’t need it.

Nearly all of the signs in downtown GNV indicate that this is the place to be if you are searching for diversion, amusement, enlightenment…and of course music.

Shut up and play at The Atlantic.

You know, rock & roll and all that jazz.

The smirk heard round the world.

Seriously, the signs are everywhere.

Look. Through every window. What do you see?

Behind bushes. In front of slatted blinds.

Life may not be a party all the time, but downtown GNV is forever giving it the old, um, college try.

Left: From the school of stick figure art.

Speaking of the old college try, downtown GNV wanted one more chance to cash in before all the newly minted grads left for greener pastures this weekend.

Left: I before E except after C. Right: Still room for more.

I really like the City’s new downtown-themed trash dispensers. And officials thoughtfully put white boards on the side to accommodate still more signs.

Left: Get your ribs at the Bo. Diddly Plaza. Right: The old circus themed brewery is no more. Now it’s serving up Korean-style fried chicken.

Of course it’s not all about selling food and music. There are signs of weightier goings-on as well.

I love this downtown.
